AC LOCKYER is an angler that loves to fish anywhere its wet
! AC has never been snooty or boorish
about the species, place or method, AC just thrives on the tug at the end of
his line. From an early age AC fished the canals of Miami, Florida
and actually had rod holders on his bike. Every weekend found him and his
parents on the water in their Mako 17. Off shore
trolling for species like sailfish and dolphin. Later his family moved to Orlando, Florida
where they lived on a golf course in a suburb. That course had many water
holes and lakes near by. That is where AC began to sharpen
his fishing skills.
AC caught his first lunker bass at the age of 11, that bass weighed 9 lbs 3 oz.
AC had caught that bass on a plastic worm using only six pound test line. As
he recalls that is where his affinity with light line fishing began. “ I did not set out to catch that bass on
light line. From what I remember it was simply what line I had. When my Dad
and I took the fish up to the local tackle shop to be weighed everyone made a
big deal about the weight of the fish verses the weight of the line. I think
that made an impression on me.” From that experience AC was given a pro pack
of Stren Line, a year supply of Mann’s, Florida Grape 10” plastic worms and a new Berkley, Lightning Rod
prototype. The fishing bug that had already bitten AC at an early age was now
a full fledged parasite living within him.

In College, at Abilene Christian
University, AC probably
fished a little more than he needed to.
Maybe it was the fact that he and Kelly Jordan, a BASS Tournament Pro
were the only students with bass boats at the school. The local lakes in West Texas proved good
training grounds as AC joined a local Bass Club in Clyde, Texas.
Each Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday AC fished Club and Honey Hole Tournaments. AC remained in Texas for a time waiting for his sweetie
to finish
college. AC owned an appliance delivery company and had a large delivery
truck. There was a poly 2 man boat in the back at all times for those post
work training sessions. The boat was named Skunked Again and was the
beginning of AC’s love for small unassuming fishing machines.

For a time AC was a Hard Core bass fishing
fanatic and didn’t look any further than that, Almost ignoring salt water
game all together. However AC moved back to Florida
in 1991 as his Father was discovering Indian River
Lagoon redfish and trout fishing. AC and his father began to fish the flats
around the east central Florida
area becoming inshore fishing fanatics. Also being discovered were the
various rivers and tributaries of the St. Johns River
System. Many days were spent exploring and fishing rivers like the Wekiva and Econaloxahatche. AC’s target fish began to widen. From
exclusively bass as an early angler AC began to fish for other species. Now
redfish, sea trout, red breast sunfish, crappie, catfish, tarpon, snook, sheep’s head, snapper, stump knockers, American
Shad and what ever else would tug on a line, especially 4 lb test.

AC settled down, started a business,
had a couple kids and moved to suburbia. In the late 90’s and early 00’s AC
received recognition for his achievements in business earning two Florida 100
awards as well as the Up and Comers award for the top twenty business
professionals under the age of forty.
Soon after the successful spin off of TerraClean
his commercial roof & exterior cleaning company AC began to do business
consulting for outdoor recreation companies. Along with the new focus in
helping outdoor companies grow AC began to develop new concepts for more
business of his own. Concepts like the Bassin Tube,
FISHGAZAM, TerraGreen and others did not deduct
from his love of fishing. In fact being involved in these ventures opened up
opportunities for AC to fish more.

Now as you look at this site you will
see that clearly it is an attempt for one angler to fulfill dreams and live
out scenarios pondered many of days. It may seem egotistical and self serving
an attempt at self promotion. However may we point out we all want to be rock
stars, we all have addictions, we all have our desires, but we all don’t try to obtain them.
This is merely one anglers attempt to help others
achieve FISHGAZAM.
